Individual Advertisement

Here’s My Review On My Advertisement Work

I started this project in a launch phase. In this phase I didn’t completely understand how we were supposed to make a project to answer the driving question (which is… ‘What does what we hear, read, and see influences us?’). We then moved on to the need to knows. Within this learning platform I learned what things I would need to know such as, what is the project all about, what businesses will we be contacted, and what is a historical advertisement.

Then we moved into a launch journal and within this launch journal me and my group wrote down what things we would need to do to make a successful advertisement. The main five categories for each letter include Look, Listen, and Learn, Ask, Understand, Navigate, Create, and Highlight. Those were the key categories for the launch journal.

I will now be reflecting on my advertisement drafts and how my groups helped me develop throughout critique. I feel I’ve gone a long way throughout my three drafts. In the first draft I made the main layout of the message (‘Kids Love Alfredo Pasta’). I did feel I needed to add a more kid friendly concept. The reason why I realized this is because in class we started talking about target audiences and I understood it enough to know that I had to add something that would appeal to this target audience. I then moved on to create my second draft. My second draft has a more kid friendly vibe to it. The reason why it has a kid friendly vibe to it is because I created a border, and within this border I included different items that represent kids. When I completed this design and showed it to my peers they said I should make the border more eye appealing because all of the colours in it are to vibrant. I completely agreed with them because this is where we were learning about techniques for advertising and having a wrong choice of a colour pallet was not a correct technique.

Lastly, I started to make my third draft. The key factor in my third draft was to keep my kid inspired broader. The way I did this was by using the layout and composition tips that we learned in class I decided to make all of the border a white colour pallet and transparent. I learned many things about design while doing these drafts and I hope that these drafts help you understand my progress throughout this draft process.

What would you do if you were given this task?
