Hey recently most of the PLP10s went on a field study to Disney World in which we had loads of fun, however the main purpose of the field study was to learn and make to videos one of which the Humanities one will be talked about in this post. So the Driving Question for this project was: “How do Disney theme parks shape and influence the cultural, economic, psychological, and social experiences of visitors?“.

So to start this project we learned how to summarize text by watching the “Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor” we made a graphic organizer.

Overall this assignment didn’t have a lot to do with the project but taught us some good skills about summarization and note taking.

Next we made what are called PKMS (Personal Knowledge Mangers) we made some on various Disney related articles. You can read a couple of mine below.

PKM 2

After that we started on the next phase of the project which meant it was time to split into groups each group was to answer a certain part of the Driving Question we answered the physiological aspect of the Driving Question. Each group had 5 different sub-sections to research I researched the immersiveness of Disney. You can read my 5 PKM’S down below. We also had to write preliminary answer to the Driving Question that is also below.

So the final product for this project was a Video Essay on the Psychological Benefits of Disney World. I’m going to be fully honest with you, our video did not go well we struggled. Our video idea was solid, but the execution did not go well. This is because we got swept up in hype of Disney and didn’t execute our video to its fullest potential. In the future we should try not to get so distracted and recognize that we need to focus and make sure our video shots and interviews are good. Now enjoy the video.

Now the final phase of this blogpost, DRIVING QUESTION TIME!!!! Which is: “How do Disney theme parks shape and influence the cultural, economic, psychological, and social experiences of visitors?” Disney as a company is big like super big. As a result they have impacted the lives of millions. More specifically in the psychological area, Disney makes stories thats their thing, stories influence us. In what we do, think, and create. In conclusion Disney has influenced everything since there creation.
