Solo, A Star Wars Story Review, By: Felix Labistour Amateur Film Critic

The start of “Solo” is very interesting and different compared to its predecessors. It has no scroll title, and it feels like the movie assumes you know most things about Han Solo already. The film shoots you right into the action with Han Solo escaping from a previous fight on his home planet, Corellia. The beginning also has some very humorous scenes, as well as throughout the whole movie. The well planed speeder escape chase is an interesting addition, as the Star Wars franchise hasn’t seemed to do many land chases. I believe it might be a throwback to the pod racer scene in movie Episode 1. However, I find that “Solo” incorporates a lot of new ideas, vehicles, species, characters, and stories into itself. They have also given a makeover to items that get shown in the movie. For instance, a Viper Probe Droid is shown in the movie looking quite different to others we’ve seen.

One of my many favourite things about “Solo”, is how they’ve incorporated every backstory that we’ve ever seen Han have into one movie. This includes people like Chewbacca, Lando, and Kira who we’ve never heard or seen about before. “Solo” has a lot of action and not a lot of slow scenes. Plus, the twist at the end of the movie where you find out Keira was bad, is a blindside that I didn’t see coming. Overall, the consistent action mixed with the very well done storyline, and nice suspense, makes for a movie that will leave you on the edge of your seat throughout.
