My family celebrates many holidays. Our favorite is Christmas. We have some special traditions for Christmas.

Firstly, In Italy it is tradition that you eat some type of fish dish of Christmas Eve. Usually we have pasta with, scallops, muscles, squid and more. It is also tradition that on Christmas Day you have a joyful dish, we usually make lasagna.

To add on to the tradition, we always have Christmas music playing on Christmas Eve, and especially during dinner.

After dinner we sit around the tree and all give our secret Santa presents. We open these presents right as we get them. This usually happens just before bed.

Also, we go to bed early so “Santa can come.” Obviously we are too old to believe in santa but ever since we were little we would go to bed early to give Santa more time to come! Now we just do it for fun and tradition.

Christmas poem:

Christmas is upon us,

Here comes Santa’s Bus.

Santa is coming with glee,

Carrying no flees.

All the presents are going to be so awesome!

Hopefully we don’t get possums!

“Look at what I got!”

“I got a mop!”

“Sick mop!”
