So we are doing a project about how the land affects our identity. We wrote and paragraph and made a video. And I’m gonna dive right into good the stuff.
Part a) How does land actually impact us?
There are multiple ways the land could affect ones identity.
An important thing the land does is shape your way of life. For example, in Mesopotamia or times such as those, if you lived next to a river, you fished that river and learnt how to do that. If you lived on the plains you hunted the animals there and that affects your lifestyle, you only eat these things, you’ve only lived in this type of place and that’s all you know.
Another way the land might influence identity is that Different populations have different relations to the land. Where you live can affect many things, like for example your religions and your traditions. An example of that is First Nation stories and traditions, depending on where different First Nation groups resided they had very different stories about the land they lived on and the wildlife around them. Those stories those people believed in and were shaped by.
