This unit focus, that we based our projects on, was CRAY CRAY YAY YAY! It really means we chose a topic, and we had to explain how they were “the crazy ones; the round peg in a square hole”.

For this project, my group and I constructed a short documentary movie, all about the growth and development of “The Music Video”, and how it was affected by “MTV: Music Television”.

We went on a school trip to Seattle to capture our camera shots at the “Spectacle” exhibit, in the EMP museum. Then we used the app, iMovie, to patch together and edit the clips into a movie. We used voice overs, and still pictures to help make it seem like a real documentary.

You’re probably wondering how MTV was crazy, or how it changed the world. Well, MTV was “different” because it started to broadcast music videos on TV all day long; something that had never really been done before. MTV was a risk, but it played a humungous part in revolutionizing “the music video”. See for yourself… Click below to watch our movie!
