The eventful events away from school with the class… 🙈

Two weeks ago me, my class (PLP 9) and the grade 8 class (PLP 8) arrived back at school after being at loon lake in maple ridge for the past four days and three nights. All of us arrived at 9:20 as usual at school on February 14 th (Valentine’s Day ❤️😩) with all our stuff (the things weed need for the next four days) and loaded it on our school bus. After we were all squished into the PLP annex and got the chance to get introduced to some to the work we were gonna complete at loon lake and we also got to complete the first two pages of our book creator!

Book creator is an app our class is very familiar with, our book creator for this trip was already “formulated”. We were given the book creator with a already set templet/idea. We did have full creative control over; the colour, fonts, overall vibe, what media we input, etc. but we did have to follow the instructions given. So with the few creative constraints we had, the photos I took during the advance and with a little bit of trying, recording and drawing.. I present to you!! “Loon Lake Learning Advance ft. The grade 8’s”

The book creator was a way we could document and reflect on our learning, growth and experiences during the advance.  Inside of my book creator you will find; memories, proof of personal growth, reflections and opinions on what we did each day and of course lots of photos!

My friend Gwen had the amazing idea to bring a couple disposable cameras ! Not all the photos ended up working (due to bad exposer?, bad lighting, other photos problems, etc.) but she did come out with quite a few amazing ✨aesthetic✨photos. Some I added to my book creator but here are a mix of some of her photos and some of mine 🙂

so overall I had a great line. I had a chance to “be alone” ad get away from my siblings and family for a while, I really enjoyed the responsibility, the flexibility  and the overall trust the teachers had in us. This experienced remained me of a summer camp but instead of babysitting us all the time the let us make our own mistakes and learning at “our own pace”

thank you for reading, and I hope this blog post made you a little jealous (well just imagine you’re a 9th grade student who hasn’t been on a trip in over 3 years)
