Guide to how to become an “effective human”? 💪

Hello and welcome back again to another blog post. After just wrapping up destination imagine as part on our maker class we were right into another project.

For the past 3 and a half mouths we have been working on a project with the driving question being “ how can I be An effective person?”

We stared off by reading the book “the 7 habits of highly effective people” by Stephan covey

 

So the real question is  how can I become my most effective self? And what does being effective mean/look like to me and how can I get there?

Well first we have to “look at our options”

for a overall summary if you were to read/have read the book “the 7 habits” there are 7 main focuses/habits

habit:

 

1. Be proactive

  • What is out fo your control, what you can control
  • ^^ circle of concern (be proactive rather then reactive)
  • All about response
  • “Focus on what you can control “
  • Implement this one out of all ^huge impact

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Begin with the end in mind

  • Make a continuous effort
  • How do you want to be remembered?
  • Something to contribute to the world
  • Keep this mission statement at the front of your head and every design you make connect it to you mission statement
  • ^ you are the programmer

 

3. Put first things first ⭐️

  • Program
  • Whats the most important things in your life?
  • Categorize thing my level of urgency and importance
  • Focus on what important to you and make it a priory
  • ^^ move from being dependant to being independent to be interdependence

4.  Think win-win 

  • Mutual benefit
  • Share knowledge

 

5. Seek first top understand the to be understood 

  • Listen to understand
  • People Think differently because of different values, beliefs, religious, experience etc.
  • Advice is requested

 

6. Synergy 

  • Celebrate values
  • ^^^ deal with relationships

 

7. Sharpen the saw  ⭐️

  • Physical, spiritual, cognitive health, social health
  • Invest in yourself

 

⭐️ I think the two habits the will help me on my Journey are ; put first things first and to sharpen the saw. Because if I practice effectively prioritizing then I will have more time to focus on; myself and things I look forward too and enjoy doing.

For each week we would learn a new habit we had to create what our class calls a “assessment choice board” we were choose some sort of media to present out understanding of that habit
