Bonjour! So on Wednesday it was take your kid to work day, an exciting day where you get to – well – go to work with your parents. This can help you decide what you want to do in the future and help you understand a certain profession and positions in that profession (I ended up going to work on Friday though instead)

My mom works for Arc’teryx a brand that mainly creates outdoor equipment and outdoor clothing this mean it can range from climbing harness to rain jackets or running shoes. Recently she was placed into a new work position, this position has her working on keeping the brands merchandise out of landfills, this means reusing materials and fixing up pieces.

If your read my blog post on people and the environment your might be able to see how my mom impacts my way of thinking even at school, she’s someone I look up to a lot and aspire to be like when I’m older. That’s why I was really excited when the opportunity to go to work with her again and learn more about this topic.

A major part of this day was documenting it with video clips that we were to later turn into a quick 1-2 min video that fully documented our day, here’s mine:

Overall this was a really fun experience and helped me understand a bit more  of the clothing industry which is something I definitely want to be a part of in the future and how we can improve this industry to be better.

I think that if you can you should inquire into as many professions as possible and take your kid to work day is an amazing opportunity to do so.
