MHTN Prediction Post

Welcome back, my blog will now contain the content from my grade 10 year, enjoy!

As humanities 10 begins, we are starting off the year with a book study. As these book studies usually go, we get to choose a story from a selection of books, I chose to read More Happy Than Not By: Adam Silvera (MHTN). As I was introduced to each of our book options, it was this one that stuck with me, the plot didn’t seem stereotypical, like the story hadn’t been told before and I was right.

Driving Question: How do authors use text to teach us more about ourselves?

So far this book has been very engaging, I keep wanting to read more. It’s one of those books that don’t linger on one topic for long, a part of the book will last just long enough to tell you about a character or explain an event and then it moves on, it keeps you interested. Currently I’m on chapter 8, Aaron’s relationship with Thomas is blooming and Genevieve is about to leave for her art camp. From the way that Aaron thinks about Thomas, I predict that Thomas and Aaron will become much closer while Genevieve’s gone. I also believe that something to do with the Leteo procedure will make its way into the story soon.

In class with each of our book groups, mine consisting of Adlih, Kailey, Logan, Melika and Luca, we took part in our first book challenge, we had to create a video introducing and acting out a couple of the scenes from our book. We created a story board, a script, filmed and Adlih edited all in time to show it in class the next day. I’m pleased to show you our More Happy Than Not chapter reflection video.
