Grade 9… What’s Going to Happen?

Hello! You might think it weird that I’m writing a blog post in the middle of the summer, but I want to talk about what’s going to happen next year. I’ve been meaning to write this post, and I just got back from a trip, so here we go!  I actually got the idea for this post from my friend Evelyn’s blog (thank you Evelyn for the idea). Next year, we’re transferring schools. Instead of going to PLP at Seycove, we’re going to Windsor.

Last year, I really enjoyed school. Well, to be more specific, I really enjoyed the learning part of school. I’ve touched on this in some of my previous posts, but I’ll go into full detail now. I think PLP was a really fantastic opportunity that I’m glad I got to experience. Unfortunately, I didn’t make that many new friends. Because PLP was at Seycove, I ended up going to a different school than all my friends from elementary school. I really missed them though out the year. I did make a few new friends, but it was still me and Evelyn sitting outside by ourselves every lunch. (About halfway through the year, we did discover that we could play Minecraft together, so we started doing that in the library after we were done eating.)

This is a slightly embarrassing image, of when I accidentally put lava above Evelyn’s Mincraft house. The water is me trying to put it out…

Anyways… In the end, both me and Evelyn are going to Windsor!!! 😀

But what does that mean change-wise for this blog? Well, not to much actually. The teachers (thank you!!!) have let us keep our blogs. I’ve decided, although it’s not a necessary icary requirement, to keep writing in my blog next year. I’ve not decided exactly how I’m going to do that. I do have a few ideas. I think it will probably be about 1 or 2 posts a month, about school. If we do a big project there will probably be a post about that. I’m not sure if anyone actually reads this blog, but that’s ok. I have fun writing these posts. I think next year I’ll do the Student Blogging Challenge again!

And since I  got back from the last trip me and my family will probably do until next summer, we’re getting guinea pigs!!! YAY!!! I expect there will be a post about that in the next month, and a whole new category!!! To see more details about my guinea pig obsession, you can check out the page at the top of my blog, or click the link here.

You might have noticed that I also changed the aesthetic (ooo, I like that word. It sounds fancy) of this blog. I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like before, but I decided I was ready for changing how it looked. I was also getting really frustrated, because there was not an easy way to scroll through all my posts. Coincidentally the font that this theme uses is one of the ones that I recently switched to really liking! I use it a lot, and now I can use it on my blog too!!! I decided to change the name of my blog to something that more accurately describes what this is. 😉

Some other changes include my Who Am I page, and that I’m trying to use more emojis in my posts!

  • Before
  • After

*Deep breath iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin, deep breath oooooouuuut*

And finally, I’ve added one more thing! I decided that I wanted something to see if I’m improving as a blogger, and some goals to make me a better blogger! So I added a page called My Goals!

Phew!!!

  1. Hi Kate! I really like this post!

I love that you included the Minecraft picture. I almost forgot about that. It made me laugh so much.

The new aesthetic of you blog is cool as well. The reddish colour is pretty, and I think the new name also is a more accurate description of this blog.

I’m excited to meet your guinea pigs and to see what you write about them. I’m sure they’ll be adorable!

I’m also looking forward to going to Windsor next year with you! Hopefully it’ll be fun.

    Have a nice day!
    Evelyn

    1. Hello Evelyn! Thanks for commenting!

I’m glad you like my post. I agree with you on the name. My posts tend to be a bit frantic/everywhere, so I think “jumble” is a good word to describe them.

Red is my favourite colour, so I really like it too.

And finally… I’m really excited for guinea pigs. I think I might make a section where I write stories about what they get up to!

      Thanks for commenting,
      – Kate
