The first task of week 4 is quite a bit different than the others, we get to chose our own topic. The topic I chose to write about is my experience with photography. Recently I have been really getting into the art of taking photos and thats all thanks to my brother Daniel. He has inspired me to learn how to take stunning photos of my own and show them to the public. Some of his photos are unbelievable, the angles and the timing of the shot really captures the moment and tells a story.

Right now I admit that I can’t take very good pictures but in a few months that will change. In my past experiences taking pictures can occasionally be hard and annoying but I am willing to persist and get the product I want. I enjoy photography because it makes me feel relaxed, for the most part. At my age I don’t know too much about what makes a great photo and what to avoid but I am slowly learning the art.

People like me and many others may think photography is simple but they are all wrong. It takes composure, consistency and willingness to produce a masterpiece. Some things that I look for in a good photo are lighting, positioning and most importantly how it tells a story and what kind of feelings you get from it. In my photos I like colours that are vibrant and make you feel warm but I also like the complete opposite in colours that make you feel cold and make you want to be cozy in your bed. Colours such as orange, yellow, red and purple make you feel warm and loved while blues and whites make you feel cold.

One of my favourite angles to shoot in is worms eye view. I like this angle because it makes the target subject look large even if it is small. Taking shots in worms eye makes you see how little critters experience everything in their life.

In my week three post I featured some of the photos that I took and think are good. Photography in my mind is more than an activity, its a way of life and I hope to achieve my goals in the near future.

This week there was only two tasks so this is the second and final task. For this part of the challenge we had to add a visitor tracking widget to our sidebar. I chose to use the Revolver Map because I thought it looked nice and simple enough to read but also unique. Revolver Map displays all visitor locations and recent hits live and in realtime on a revolving globe. Now that I have a visitor tracking widget I can see where me visitors are from. Having the ability to see where my viewers are from is really handy because now I can see how many people in any country visit my blog. You can make your own visitor tracking widget by following the edublogger’s step by step tutorial.

At the end of the day week four of the student blogging challenge was the most enjoyable one yet and I’m glad I participated.
