Coding? Easy

This week the theme for the blogging challenge was coding. For my hour of code, I did the mine craft coding challenge. I also did the flappy bird one, but it was outside of the hour of code so I won’t talk about it that much. I find coding very fun and easy to do if you follow the correct steps but can be frustrating if you make a mistake, because you have to go through all of your coding to find out where you went wrong and it can be very time consuming.

I think that coding is very cool and can be useful if you are looking for a job in that industry. I personally am not, but I still think that it is a useful skill to have and is good to know in day to day life with all of the technology we are using in our lives.

Above you can see, the comment I left for Alex. I was curious about some ways to get into the coding industry. I have yet to receive a reply but when I do, I will be sure to update so you can all see. Overall I think that the major thing that I learned is how to code and some of the benifits of learning. I hope that you have learned something and until next time!

  1. Hi Meg,
I am a Portuguese teacher of English as a Foreign Language and an Edublogs commenter. Just like you, I feel inspired and awestruck by Alex. Even though I’ve never dedicated any time to coding, I have to admit that it’s really relevant nowadays and as you say, useful, and one of the 21st skills.
Now, if you’re that much into coding, what would you like to do later, when you’re older?
Feel free to get back to me if you wish.
Best wishes and, if that’s the case, happy holidays for you and yours,
    Teacher Alex

    • Hi, teacher Alex,
      Thank you for your comment.

Although its true that I do find coding very fun and a possible career path,
my current dream job is falling into the category of either the movie
industry, performing arts, or an Animater. However, I am still young enough to
say that, and I am almost confident that, that will change.

What age group do you teach? Or do you teach all ages?
      Happy holidays!
      Sincerely, Meg

  2. Hi Meg,
I have already taught all levels basically, but, right now, I’m teaching teens – 11/12 yrs old, 13-14 yrs old and a group of adult learners. Just for you to have an idea, the oldest person I’m currently teaching English is…75 years old 🙂 Never too late to learn, is it?
    Keep in touch, Meg.
    Best wishes,
    Teacher Alex
