This Flex session I am working with 5 groups of students (each group is 3-8 students) as they redesign 5 locations throughout the school. Students then chose their locations and groups. The Design Steps we are following come from HGTV:
- Decide your space’s purpose
- Remember who uses the space
- Do your homework – cut out pictures, look through magazines, online,…
- Keep size in mind
- Create a consistent look
- Start with a signature piece
- Formulate a plan
- Shop around to create a look
- Limit trendy pieces to accessories
- Light up the space
- Make if personal
Today, students explored design boards and what is required to create one. They began working on step #3 – 6. Can’t wait to see the design boards and budgets over the next 2 weeks. Let the design fun begin!
