The UBC Physics department is once again looking for volunteers to help with the physics and Astronomy summer camp this year. This is an excellent opportunity if your focus area is Science and also you get to do your work experience in summer. Applicant must be enthusiastic, responsible, punctual, and interested in science.

Street Hockey Volunteers wanted Play On!

Street hockey tournament which comes back to the streets around Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby on June 9th to June 10th 2012. We are looking for volunteers who want to participate at the event.

Each event involves closing nearly 1km of city streets at all times throughout an entire weekend. CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Play On! tournaments feature hundreds of teams and thousands of participants and include separate divisions for both genders, all skill levels, and all ages. Pedalheads is an 8 level bike safety and skills camp for kids agex 3 – 14.  They are hiring enthusiastic individuals to teach at all of their Lower Mainland and Victoria Locations. You have to be at least 17 by December 31st, 2012. There’s no need to be an expert biker just to love working outside, being active and teaching kids! They are looking for people who are fun, creative, dynamic and above all, responsible.

Presented by the North shore Family Court & Youth Justice Committee serving as a link between Community & the Justice system

A variety of presentaions and simulations will be available regarding the many avenues of the criminal justice stysem. You will have the opportunity to watch an arrest go down, take in a court proceeding or take a tour of a corthouse, First responders, youth court, family court, civil court and  much more !!

The open hourse will have information, education and fu for the whole family, including police vehicles and equipment, K9 demonstrations, cell tours, display and more.

The Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Ltd., is now one of the largest direct action environmental events in Canada, engaging tens of thousands of participants annually across the nation. Each year, public support and general awareness of the program has increased, inspiring more volunteers to join and make a difference. CityFest 2012 – May 5th, 12 to 4pm

The youth of North Vancouver will present CityFest 2012 on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 12pm to 4pm. CityFest 2012 will take place in the parking lot and skate park at Centennial Theatre. The event includes a skateboard competition, a youth art display, dance and drama performances, a live band showcase, a free photo booth and a free barbeque with food give-aways.

Youth for a Fair Today

 

 
SFU Engineers Without Borders is partnering with Fair Trade Vancouver to host an interactive, stimulating youth conference, Youth for a Fair Today on April 26th at Simon Fraser University.
  
The day-long conference will feature discussions, discovery, critical thinking and a move to empowerment and action with regards to the Fair Trade system. This conference is an excellent opportunity for students to network with other passionate youth, add invaluable leadership experience to a resume and solidify concrete ways in which they can take action in their own community to enact lasting, sustainable change abroad. 
 Students from grades 10 – 12 are encouraged to register.
