 Opening The Door event on May 24th 2013
Today’s youth are tomorrow’s science and technology innovators. Science World’s Opening the Door program wants grade 11 and 12 students to discover careers in science.
About the Event:
To celebrate the opening of Science World’s new feature exhibit for youth we are thrilled to offer this special Opening The Door event. Students will network and connect with professionals in the public health sector specific to the topic of youth and sexuality, at Science World at TELUS World of Science on Friday May 24th 2013 6pm – 8pm

Spend a week with Encounters with Canada – Canada’s largest youth forum!  Every week of the school year, 120 to148 teens from across Canada (ages 14-17) come to Ottawa, where they discover their country through each other, learn about Canadian institutions, meet famous and accomplished Canadians, explore exciting career options, develop their civic leadership skills and live an extraordinary bilingual experience. Over 93,000 youth have lived the EWC experience, so far!

Would you like to work at the Ecology Centre? We’re searching for a weekend staff person who’s also available to work the occasional week day.
Do you love working with children?
Are you a multitasking wizard, able to juggle phone calls, bookings, sales, and questions?
The Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre (www.dnv.org/ecology) is looking for a part time front desk staff person and program leader.
The Ecology Centre is run by the District of North Vancouver Parks Department and is located in beautiful Lynn Canyon Park.
We run outdoor programs for schools, families, and other groups from the Metro Vancouver area, and we’re also a popular tourist destination.
Duties include:
Leading weekend and summer programs for local families and groups (Scouts, birthday parties)
Working at the front desk of our nature museum: playing nature films, selling items from the gift shop, and answering questions from visitors
Experience required:
Working with groups of children and families
An understanding of local ecology
Experience working with the public and tourist groups is an asset
This part time position begins immediately, with weekend and some weekday shifts available.
It’s ideal for a student who would be interested in occasional weekend work in the fall and winter seasons as well.

Our 2013 registration is now open! We’re looking for students entering grade 10 or 11 this upcoming September who think they have what it takes.

Each week, students will learn about cutting-edge research, academic theory and industry opportunities from BC’s top science and technology business leaders. Future Science Leaders scholars will be profiled throughout the province as role models to inspire younger students to strive for science excellence.
