One week long Work Experience with Teck Resources during Spring Break, March 19-23, 2018.

Administrative Assistant, Risk Group and Corporate Library

 

  • The ideal candidate is interested in a career in, or considering post-secondary course work in, Business Administration, Office Management, Risk and Insurance, Commerce, or Library and Information Studies. Through this placement, the student will develop an understanding of working in a professional environment, gain exposure to Teck’s Risk, Security and Insurance strategy, and how it is applied and implemented within Teck’s operations. The student will also be introduced to Teck’s Corporate Library.

    • The ideal candidate should be interested corporate communications, public relations, digital media, advertising, social media or marketing fields. Through this placement, the student will develop an understanding of working in a professional environment, gain exposure to Teck’s internal and external communications strategies and how it is applied and implemented within Teck’s operations.

Desktop Support Technician, Digital Systems

 

  • The ideal candidate should be interested in pursuing a career in the day-to-day delivery of IT support services both on-site and remotely. Through this placement, the successful applicant will develop an understanding of work in a professional environment, and will gain exposure to Teck’s Tier1 and Tier2 support strategies for computer hardware and software. Students will also liaison with various stakeholders within the Teck Resources business divisions.

Soldier for a Day – Vancouver

 

The Soldier for a Day work study program will show students how a soldier in the Army Reserve is trained and what they do when they are working for the Canadian Armed Forces. Students will be given the opportunity to see some of the vehicles and equipment that we use as well as have the opportunity to experience a portion of our annual Fitness Test and get basic instruction in marching and drill.
