JABC Techworks Virtual & in-Person Program

Now in it’s seventh year, JABC TechWorks is a technology career conference for high school students. Available both virtually and in-person, JABC TechWorks is a forum for youth to explore technology and technology-related careers and understand the education, skills and mindset needed to ensure they are tech-enabled and qualify for tech-related jobs. Duringthe2021-22 school year, over 5,500 youth in urban, rural and Indigenous communities across B.C. participated in JABC TechWorks. Students had a chance to hear from and connect with companies such as BestBuy, Amazon, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Teck, TELUS, Accenture and so many more.

This school year, JABC is pleased to be offering JABC TechWorks both virtually and in-person. We’re bringing back our in-person experience after a two-year pause with a 400-person one-day event in Surrey, B.C.

Raise the Roof – Youth Ambassador Program

Raising the Roof (RTR) is looking for youth ages 15-25 to join our National Youth Ambassador Program, be equipped to be leaders in their community, and be advocates for change across Canada.
We are looking for community-minded, creative and ambitious young people who are interested in Raising the Roof’s mission to end homelessness and who want to build skills like leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing, social media, advocacy, event planning and so much more.
Through the program the youth will gain valuable skills through workshops taught by top leaders in their fields, one on one and group mentorship, volunteer hours, reference letters, and an opportunity to engage their community on an important issue while exercising their leadership skills. The youth will connect with a network of other engaged youth across Canada who want to make a difference in their community and be equipped to be leaders in their generation.

There will be a virtual conference in December, ongoing training workshops and mentorship sessions, and the youth will lead a community engagement event in February in support of the Toque Campaign.
10-15 youth from across Canada will be selected as Regional Team Leads and will have the opportunity to come to Toronto for an all expenses paid trip to Toronto, including flight, hotel, food and top expert training from Nov-16-19, 2022.
Please fill out the application below and if you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to Shoshana at shoshana@raisingtheroof.org
We will be accepting applications until October 31, 2022.
