SLC post 1!

The work I feel demonstrates my growth as a learner is my paragraph for the act 1 of The Julius Caesar Shakespeare play because it shows the improvement I’ve had in writing paragraphs over the years. These past few weeks our class has been writing paragraphs for each act in the Julius Caesar. My first paragraph was my favourite and I feel it has demonstrated my skill when writing a paragraph. It showed my paragraph had a hook, 3 reasons to support my idea and a good conclusion.

The reason I picked this paragraph was because when I was younger I had difficulties writing and I found it very hard to explain my opinion in writing. But over the year I have improved drastically, especially in the past few years in my writing and that’s why I was so proud was when I was given an A and on top of that my teacher showed the paragraph to the class as a good example.. Also just the feeling that I did a good job. If I did this project again I would try to fix my grammar and look over the paragraph more.

Here is the paragraph that I think demonstrates my growth as a learner:

Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare’s most well known plays with many different characters who might be considered to be the best suited for the role of leadership. A leader needs to be strong, noble, wise and likeable, Somebody who is all of those things and more is Marcus Junius Brutus. Cassius, Brutus’s brother in law, remarks many qualities of his that tell us as that he is most fit to take the role of leadership and become king instead of Caesar. For one thing Brutus is much admired by the people of Rome and is looked up to as he is in a higher class. People respect him which is a huge part of being a role in leadership. Another thing that makes him a leader is that he would be brave and noble enough to stand up to Caesar and take over becoming king. I think that is pretty brave as Caesar was offered to be king but declined and Brutus might just take that away from him because of the fact that Caesar actually wanted to be king. The last reason why Brutus is good for the leadership role is because Cassius tells us that Brutus is much stronger physically and mentally than Caesar. Cassius tells the story of how Caesar almost dies well swimming and he had to save him because Caesar was to weak and therefor he is not strong enough to be king and rule the country. Even thought we have only read the first scene of the play I can already tell that Brutus is the strongest, most noble character in the play, he will definitely fight hard for what he wants.
