TPOL Time!

Hello and welcome to the T-Pol. It’s the end of grade nine, and boy, what a year it was. Grade 9 was full of adventures, drama, struggles, complications, learning, collaboration, and countless other things. Today I will be going over what my goals were for the start of grade 9 and what the next steps will be for my learning adventures. Let’s move on:

Statement of learning intent:

This school year, I want to understand how to, better communicate and represent my ideas in my writing, articulate my ideas by improving my grammar skills, I would like to understand how to effectively use and show my ideas in my work so others can better understand me, and finally, I would like to know how to collaborate with others in an effective and positive way. My to-do list for this term is to, show more of myself in projects by expressing my own thoughts and opinions by not reading off what other people think, and finally, I want to give voice to my ideas by doing my own thing.

Pol Declaration:

Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.

Growth chart:

Now that you got a glimpse of my growth chart, let’s move on to the specifics. First let’s start with Humanities. This covers what my goals were and how I felt I did at accomplishing these goals.

Now, let’s move to the Maker. Maker 9 was challenging, very challenging, as it included Destination Imagination and a recent project we did, “Our First Film.”

Let’s finally move on to Scimatics. Scimatics was a challenge this year compared to grade 8 where it was by far my best subject. This year I feel the previous extra effort I put into my Scimatics work has now slid into my Humanities work. What I mean by this is that as Scimatics has become more challenging because I’m in grade 9, I feel my work ethic has changed.  I feel I could be trying a lot harder in Scimatics than I have been. Here is my most recent Scimatics blog post:
