More happy than not

What a wonderful welcome back. A blog post. At least I am into what I’m writing about this time! We have been reading books and exploring different realms through authors perspectives, our driving question for this unit is “How do authors use text to teach us more about ourselves?” And I plan to continue to go back to that question throughout the book. Speaking of books, for this term I choose More Happy Than Not. I am reading More Happy Than Not, with Melika, Kailey, Luca, Logan and Isabelle The story of a boy named Aaron and his pain he is willing to forget as well as his sexuality he chooses to ignore. Aaron is a teenage boy growing up in the Bronx with his now widowed mother and older brother. His dad left them 2 months back and he still cant shake the vivid images. And sometimes the only way to remember is to forget.

My prediction for the book is that Aaron will have to choose to continue in a relationship with either his longtime girlfriend or his crush. I think that this will make things really hard for him and, he will prefer to not pick, and just live his life in secret. I think I will like this book a lot!

This video is our reflection on the first few chapters of our book. It explains what parts of the book are important to the story, and how these scenes helped us understand the popular characters and settings! Hope you like it.
