This week was all about getting the interview done and frankly, I was very unlucky at doing this. As well as the interview, we needed to research our topic of the story we are aiming to tell. Learning to tell an effective story, we used the 3 act story template to divide the stories we listened to into smaller parts and get an idea for what we need to do for our podcast shortly.

I had planned to get an interview with one of my friends from this international camp called “CISV” but unfortunately, my interviewee recently had a problem with her disposition and I was unable to complete my interview this weekend. I have emailed and contacted many more people, but there just might be more of a delay from a bigger time change. I have talked to 2 separate family members with WWII stories as a child involving D-Day and I have contacted a YouTuber that has really good WWII content on the engineering side of things. Knowing this, it is just going to be a matter of catching up and most importantly, GETTING A RESPONSE. I am most likely only going to do a second interview for my relatives because it can get quite excessive for doing 2 separate interviews with someone you have never met.

One thing to keep in mind throughout this whole interview process is to stay flexible because I can’t control every little factor and I just have to keep moving if something isn’t working. Right now it is stressful as everyone else is so far ahead but once I do get the interview done, it will be a huge relief. I can only wait for an email and try to plan for an interview and story ahead a time so it can go as quickly as possible. The problem with this is that I find myself doing way more work than is needed as I have multiple topic options.

I am hoping I can get my interview done in the next few days but if I don’t get a response fast enough, it is going to be a problem. Then again, I need to stay open if these backup plans don’t work and keep readapting.
