Driving question: what sparked global exploration and what was the impact?
Since the start of this semester we have been working on a project called “blue Ted brutes in horned helmets and other tall tales”. We started it off by learning about Vikings and how they are actually not all like what we have been told. We carried that over into learning about the Viking ages and how they raided everything. We then learned about more things such as explorers, the Atlantic slave trade, all the diseases that killed everyone. We then got to go into more detail about one of the explorers and I chose John Cabot. We wrote a story and i chose to write from Cabot’s point of view as a journal. I put into a book and made it look like one of his diaries!

I had a lot of fun with this project and I think it was really cool to learn more about these things. Every year since grade 4 we spend a day briefly learning about all of these things but I enjoyed getting to fully understand what actually happened. Im excited to see what we do next!
