My Historical Explanation and Triptych

My thesis Inventions from the Renaissance have had a lasting impact on the world as advancement in technologies have fuelled creativity resulting in the myriad of inventions we enjoy today. Introduction The Renaissance was a period of great change and was full of creations which revolutionized the way people think and behave and experience the world. After centuries of war and unfair ruling, people began to explore new ideas and concepts that would shape the world’s future. The Renaissance changed our perspective of the world and challenged the status of the Church, setting the world on a new course of exploration and creativity. During this time, society turned away from the traditional methods of working and instead embraced change, innovation, and the development of new techniques and methods. Inventions from the Renaissance have had a lasting impact on the world as advancement in technologies have fuelled creativity resulting in the myriad of inventions we enjoy today. New ideas in the Renaissance changed the world by inspiring creativity. First, the printing press definitely inspired creativity. It allowed individuals to share and spread their ideas to others in printed form. Also by sharing ideas, readers were inspired and often expanded on the original idea and then shared their extended thoughts with others still, again using the printing press. Another example of how new ideas in the Renaissance changed the world includes the microscope. This device sparked creativity to explore the world further and allowed individuals to see another aspect of the world, everything that had previously been hidden from our vision limits. In a similar way to the microscope, the telescope changed the world and sparked creativity. The telescope, however, allowed individuals to explore the sky and objects in it. This changed people’s perspective of the world and our position in it compared to the universe as a whole. It also allowed individuals to theorize about the solar system. From these examples it’s clear to see how new ideas in the Renaissance changed the world. In order for the Renaissance to have taken place there must have been a foundation that people built on. The Renaissance was a time where people had to rely on what was available and only listened to guidance from a small number of individuals, like the Church and kings. Generally, people did not want to create, they only wanted to survive. They had a very closed view of the world which was directed by the Church. It was only after questioning the Church’s doctrine, that people started to think on their own and make theories and hypotheses on the world around them. These theories and hypotheses were written, shared and spread quickly to others. This gave momentum and validity to the Renaissance ideas. The inventions from Europe and Asia during the Renaissance have changed my world in significant ways. The pendulum was invented during the Renaissance and used to regulate time in a clock, making clocks more accurate. This allowed people to create schedules and set meetings, with everyone showing up at the same time. This has eventually led to the Apple Watch which is a great device that, in addition to so many more functions, still allows people to regulate time, set schedules, and work at the same time. Similarly, the printing press was invented during the Renaissance and was used to communicate written information. It allowed people’s ideas to be spread easily and quickly. Our modern day iPads and iPhones do the same and are based on the same ideas of the printing press. Both devices allow users to communicate written, as well as oral and visual, information to others very, very quickly. Last, lenses were invented during the Renaissance and used to improve vision by enhancing and magnifying what was being looked at. This invention led to the modern day innovation of camera lenses which can zoom in on a subject and enhance the light to a focal point. These innovations from Europe and Asia have had an enormous impact on the world today. They have changed the way we communicate, interact with each other, conduct business and education, and have been crucial to the development of modern science, technology, and industry. The Renaissance was a period of great innovation and creativity where people embraced change and tried new ways of doing things that enabled them to create inventions and technologies that have shaped the modern world. Inventions from both Europe and Asia, such as the telescope, the microscope, lenses, the printing press, and the pendulum, continued to spark progress and transformation. In conclusion, the Renaissance was an important period in history that has had a lasting impact on the world. Its advancements in science, technology, and industry, as well as its embrace of change, have set the stage for the myriad of innovations we enjoy today. The legacy of the Renaissance continues to inspire people to imagine what could be and push boundaries in order to create a better future.

The Project

For this project we had to create a triptych and a description of it to answer the driving question which was (how did ideas Europe and Asia change the world. We did extensive research on the renaissance and the many innovations from that period of time. Once we had all the information we had to use a photoshop app called SuperimposeX, with this app we edited ourselves into images and as different people.

My learning

This project was one of the more difficult ones and I learned how to use a new app and how to make sure that the sources that I was using information for were trustable.

The process

The process for this project was difficult and I had to get it done before it was due. We all had to have the triptych and paragraphs done to post it on are blog.
