For my podcast, I chose two stories from my cabin at Green Lake, one from winter, “Frozen Fear,” and one from summer, “Summer Chaos.” I picked these stories because they each had a engaging and memorable story attached to them that I knew would keep people entertained. I made sure to have a clear beginning, middle, and end, which helped kept the flow of the podcast, and for it to stay organized. The sound effects like snow crunching and fire crackling made the episodes come to life.

Creating the podcast came with challenges, but also with some times when it worked out better than I expected. Adding sound effects and background music made the podcast feel more professional and engaging, but it was hard at times to edit, Sometimes the sound effects didn’t come out as clear as I wanted, and editing them took longer than I expected. I also struggled with making the music match the tone of the stories perfectly, though I was proud of the way I learned to create and adjust it in GarageBand. One thing I could’ve improved was my time management, if I had spent a bit more time on sound effects and the description, the podcast would’ve been even more professional.

Throughout this podcast I learned about both time management and editing. Completing the podcast ahead of schedule was something I was proud of, but I didn’t hand it in until the last minute. Next time I could have taken an extra 10 minutes once I finished editing to have time to get feedback to make it even better. I plan to improve my GarageBand skills to make the audio to found more crisp and use the tools I have more effectively. Overall I’ll focus on fixing the small details like sound effects and descriptions to make my next podcast even stronger.
