Customize Your Nightmare

Five Nights at Freddy’s (also known as FNAF) is a horror game franchise created by Scott Cawthon. At the time of making this, there are eight games that have been released. Today, I’m going to be talking about the seventh game in the franchise: Ultimate Custom Night.

Ultimate Custom Night is a combination of pretty much all the games. The concept of the game is that you have the night shift as a security guard at a pizzeria. This pizzeria makes its money off of entertaining kids with life size animatronics. During the day, they are friendly and sing and dance for kids. But when you are in your office, the animatronics try to get in, and kill you. The goal of the game is to survive until 6 AM. Your office. have 2 doors, and a vent, all of which you can close. The catch is that to close a door or vent, it takes power, and you have limited of it. You also have a monitor with security cameras, to see what is approaching. This also takes power, but not as much.

Why THIS game?

The reason this game is different from the others in the franchise, is that you can completely customize what animatronics are in the game, and there difficulty. You can make it easy, to play around with the controls and get a feel for the game, and when you want a challenge, you can do that. The game is still very difficulty even when on easy mode, and is quite a challenge to complete.

Speaking of challenges, there area bunch of challenges to made by the developer. They preset certain animatronics to certain levels, and are designed to be challenging in different ways. Some are suppose to be chaotic, others are about being patent.

In the game, you’ve got to make sure everything is under control. There are lots of audio, and visual cues that you will miss if your not paying attention. The game is scary because you’re under constant stress. You’re never safe at any point.

Also, if your feeling lucky, try setting all fifty of the animatronics to level twenty. This is called 50/20 mode, and at the time of writing this, around 25 people how beaten it officially. So good luck!

Fear of the unknown

In the game, there is a random chance that an animatronic names DD will appear. She will summon a random animatronic from the game. This makes it so that you can’t just master an exact strategy. You have to account for the fact that your strategy might have to change.

Learning from experience

As you play the game, you’ll learn more about each specific animatronic. Each one can be prevented with the right actions, and precautions. Like, for example, “Molten Freddy” will only attack you from the vents, and will let you know he is almost in your office, by cackling. The first time it happens, you probably wont know what it is, but later, you’ll be able to recognize the sound from a mile away, and you’ll shut the vent door immediately. Also don’t be intimidated by the seventeen controls. Most of them are specific for certain animatronics, and the rest you’ll learn really quickly. Horror games can be fun when you have no idea how  to defend yourself.

Getting the game

FNAF Ultimate Custom Night is available on Steam for free, so knock your socks off. The takes like zero memory to run, so you can play it even if your computer isn’t very powerful. Also, I recommend at least some descent headphones. The game is more immersive if you feel like you’re actually in the game. WARNING: Use this game at your own risk. FNAF Ultimate Custom Night contains jump scares, flashing lights, and is build to be scary. Remember, I am only talking about the game, not forcing you to play it.

Here is the download page. (you will need steam installed to play it). https://store.steampowered.com/app/871720/Ultimate_Custom_Night/

Last words

FNAF Ultimate Custom Night is a really fun game, wait, I’ll be right back. I think I hear something in the vents…

    Hey Daniel
I love this post, the layout of it is really good. With the placement of the photos and words I completely understand what you were trying to say. It’s hard to think of one thing to improve but maybe next time explain more what’s in the photos you added and possibly put in some more links. But other then that I love it, especially the ending. Great job! 🙂
