The last an final part! This one was a little different so read along.
BOOK
This was the very last habit in the book, it felt good that it was over, but also good to take away habits that I can keep using. It’s important to put mental health first, and these habits are important ways to keep it up. So now I say bye bye “Sean Coveys Book of Highly effective Teens.”
GROUPS
For this video, the groups were changed and I got paired with Julia and Cece. I would defenitly say I got an amazing group because we all work well together and going back to Synergize, we were able to use that habit.
VIDEO
For making the video, we didn’t waste any time, we started planning right away and when we had the time, filmed. I am happy with how our video turned out, because we took many retakes and it was all worth it for our video to turn out how it did.
SHARPEN YOUR SAW
- SOCIAL
Social is a really good way to sharpen your saw, seeing your friends and surrounding yourself with people who bring you joy and happiness makes you happy. Though, if your friends aren’t making you feel happy then you probably shouldn’t be friends with them. Social could also be your family or even just going out and interacting with people.
2. EMOTIONAL
Being emotional is also being vulnerable, opening up about your feeling and letting other in to help. This is one of the hardest ways to sharpen your saw because it can be diffficult to talk about feeling but its very very important. The example we used in our video was a therapy session, therapy is a great way to sharpen your emotional saw, but if its too hard then just talk with a friend.
3. SPIRITUAL
This can look very different for different people. Especially if you are religious. Often when people are having delemas or in a pit, they’ll look to god and pray. Ask him for help or just talk to him. For me, since I am not religious, I enjoy writing in a journal. It helps me get all the feeling out that I couldn’t tell anyone.
4. PHYSICLE
This way of sharpening your saw is very important to me becuase I love being active. I do so many sports and although it can be very exhausting, its also rewarding and gets me outside. Even working out is a way to release stress and clear your head. PHYSICLE and social often collide when your on a sports team because your forced to interact. PHYSICLE doesn’t have to be sport eighther, it can be as simple as going for a walk or just doing jumping jacks. I like to call them wiggle breaks.
Overall, I think that this habit is very important for keeping a steady balance between working.
