My Team Contract

What is teamwork?

My definition of teamwork is working with others towards a common goal. Everyone has to put in the effort and the work, not just one or a few individuals. According to the Oxford dictionary, teamwork is “ the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient”.  Now that we know a bit more about teamwork, let’s move on.

Teamwork with me:

My name is Gwenyth and you might end up having to work in a team with me at some point next week, next month, this year or in the next 5 years!

Watch this short video to learn how I work in a team, ( I’m the pug, and Reporter Robin is asking me questions)

The driving question for this step of the project was : “how do I work as a team?”.  To help answer this question, I wrote my User Manual, made the video that you just watched and created my Memoji with laptop stickers. These three pieces of work help explain who I am as a person, who I am as a learner and how I fit into a team.

Making my Memoji laptop sticker creation helps quickly communicate who I am, visually. It symbolizes who I am, which is not essential but very helpful, when wanting to know or learn a bit more about your team member.

In the video you just watched, I explain some key points about working in a team with me. To ensure that everyone has a chance to share their ideas, I ask people in my team what their opinion, ideas or thoughts are.

In the User Manual, we wrote in the same format as the mentor texts that we had read. It’s all about who I am as a learner. We wrote in the third person as if we we’re apple devices. For example, I / this device, comes with functions including , but not limited to, the following:

  • Thinking creatively
  • Working hard
  • Sharing ideas and thoughts
  • Setting my mind to do something, then doing it
  • General enjoyment of some aspects of the learning

Teamwork is something we can all improve at, whether it’s for unit projects, milestones or small team challenges. One easy way to understand and be productive with your team is by getting to know their strengths and what they expect from you when working together. If you ever have to work with a PLP student, including me, who you don’t know very well, be sure to check out their blog page on teamwork.
