🇭🇹Haitian Revolution on Trail🇭🇹

The driving question for this project was: how do revolutions bring down empires and change societies around the world?

To start this project off, we did a simulation, if you want to read the post I made on that, here it is:

All hail Queen Mackenzie (and the dancing ghosts) 👑

In this project we were assigned a revolution (we got to chose between the Russian, American, French and Haitian revolution) and the end goal was to act out a court trial, and argue for either the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the revolution.

I was in the Haitian revolution, along with Kira, Keira, Sofia, Gwendie, and Daniel.

Before we started researching our revolutions, we learned about the Crane Brinton theory and made a graphic showing the stages of a revolution.

Once we had done that we each made a graphic organizer showing all the information about the Haitian revolution.

After that we were told if we were going to be arguing for the effectiveness or ineffectiveness, my group was arguing for the ineffectiveness of the revolution.

The original plan was to work with the other humanities 9 class and act out the court scene with the group who was arguing for the opposite side, but things were a little too complicated, so it was decided that each group would film their own trial, and there wouldn’t be any collaboration with the other class.

We wrote out our affidavit and finished our script, and then we could start filming.

Here’s our finished video:
