I Hey guys, I’m back! I know it’s been quite a while, but today I’m talking about Worldview! Our project this time round was very much a step by step project that lead up to an massive final product… a song! The song we were told to remake was called It’s the end of the world as we know it by REM. But before I jump into the song I have to explain how I got there and the knowledge I gained to make it a success! This project was a project built up by milestones. Milestones are smaller assignments that help you gain knowledge so that your final project is much better. We had 7 key milestones, and I’m starting with the first one.

For our very first milestone I was actually away so I don’t have much to say about it. From what I can tell we all wrote down questions, and posted them onto a board. Ms.Willimse tried her best to answer them so that we could get a deeper knowledge of the project. As I said I wasn’t there so it didn’t provide me any knowledge about the project, but it gave my class a general idea of what our question was “How has the transition from elementary to high school challenged your worldview?”, and how to answer it. I’m sorry that I didn’t have a bigger reflection of knowledge here, but as I wasn’t there I genuinely didn’t gain anything from it (I didn’t even get to ask a question).

For our second milestone, we wrote a paragraph! This paragraph was a real eye opener for me. It was interesting because it was my first reflection on what we had started learning about, the crusades! In this paragraph I talked about how the Christians worldview shifted during and after the crusades. This paragraph really taught me a lot. It made me realize just how much worldview could shift through just 1 event! It was a really cool reflection that definitely made me think, if the Christians worldview shifted so much in one event how much did mine shift in changing schools?

The third milestone what is our book of the lion roll sheets. Now to me I actually found the book more informative on worldview then the roll sheets. The book really talked about one person‘s individual shift in worldview because of an event. The roll sheets didn’t really help me understand worldview that much. The roll sheets were more useful in helping me understand the book and what was really going on but once I understand what was happening in the book it showed me a lot more about Edmund’s change and worldview because of the crusades. The book showed me how much the people, places, and the things you do really affect your worldview.

Our fourth milestone was a Venn diagram. This milestone I found really interesting. I don’t think it enlightened me about my worldview, at that point I had already created my first draft of my MindNode (next milestone) so I had a general idea of what I thought was my worldview shift. But the really cool part of this milestone was seeing how my classmates worldview had shifted. They had some similarities to my worldview shift, but some of their shifts were really interesting to me because I couldn’t relate to their changes at all. That showed me how even though the same event can happen to a group of people, it changes all of their worldviews so differently. Other interesting part about this Venn diagram was reading about what the experts had to say. I was kind of sceptical about this at first because I thought “how do they know what my worldview shift is, they’re adults not kids, what do they know!”. The funny thing is they did know, pretty well actually! I found myself thinking well they’re actually surprisingly right, I did completely do that! This kind of surprised me because I wasn’t sure how people who didn’t experience what I did wear surprisingly able to relate. It showed me all though worldview is yours, it can be, generalized, predicted, and it usually ends up being right, because even though everyone’s worldview is different, certain aspects will always be the similar just because of circumstance.

Now for the final milestone before the project, and possibly the most informative one yet… the MindNode!!! This milestones taught me so much about my worldview, I could write a book on it! This milestone really forced me to take a good deep look at how my worldview had changed through my transition through schools. It showed me just how much some of the aspects of my worldview have changed. The funny thing though is that it also showed me what parts hadn’t changed as much too. It forced me to really think about what I thought was different now versus then. It also taught me more deeply about the individual aspects. Examples that I didn’t think were society, were actually a different form of society that I didn’t think of!

Now for our second to last milestone we have the song (drafts of lyrics)! I personally think I did most of the learning about worldview in the milestones before, but the lyrics of the song really forced me to put all of my knowledge together. In the lyrics I took all the things I had learned about my worldview and made a song out of it! I rewrote the lyrics of the song with lyrics that explained my shift in worldview from elementary to high school. I was then told that I would be making an accompanying iMovie with photos that aided my song (they had to represent my worldview shift), but Ms.Williemse gave us a twist…..we were now not just making our own song, our group was making one mega song!

My song

Mega song

Once we had found out our song was going to be made as a group we compiled our lyrics. Me, Meg, Malaika, and Brenton looked at everyone’s lyrics and then voted on which lyric we wanted for each line. This was really cool because I got to see what everyone thought was their worldview shifts in the form of lyrics! We then all compiled our photos to form our final video.

Overall this project has taught me so much about Worldview! It’s taught me that events can impact everyone’s worldview differently, it’s taught me what my own worldview really is and it’s taught me so much about others worldview too! This project has helped me to understand was worldview actually is and that it is in every part of everyone’s lives. I know I have done other projects on worldview, but I think that this one really showed me the most about my worldview personally.

Thank you so much for reading, see ya soon,
