How this trip made me closer to my learning group

So for this field study, we went to Loon lake which in in the middle of nowhere somewhere in maple ridge, We did a bunch of physical activities such as shelter building, A Frame walking, rock climbing, and low and high ropes. We also did workshops with Jono, who owns Pinnical Pursuits and we did something like a cooperative leadership workshops with him. I hoped, out of that field trip is to get closer to my classmates. The reasons why we do PLP field studies are to see the world around us, learn about stuff in the region we are in, and see new places.

VMVs

So, for this trip, for the first night of the trip, we reflected on our VMV’s and some parts of my VMV that connect to this field study is my creativity and GRIT, Now this field study changed, supported or challenged my thinking with Jono’s workshops, For example, for the trust fall activity, I was nervous doing it at first because I thought I might fall the wrong way so my spotters can’t catch me and I also thought because I was a bigger person, that my classmates can’t catch me. But in the end, I fell and my spotters caught my fall well. This challenged my thinking because I didn’t trust my classmates as much as before, but after the activity, I know they have my back and they will support me.

Meaningful moment

One meaningful moment for me was the trust fall activities where I fell off a table and on top of the chair and there were spotters there for me, it went well and my spotters caught my fall well. One thing I learned about myself is that I can trust my learning team more than before and that they got my back and support me and this moment helped me grow.

Some stuff I did

A life poster that shows stuff that I do in my life
My 3 best emotional intelligence strengths, this relates to my learning by knowing my strenghs

There’s more stuff I did on this trip that was valuable to me but I couldn’t include here. So the stuff I did was important because for the life poster, it showed stuff I  like to do, like sailing, biking and working out. It showed what I like to do in a creative way. The bottom 3rd portion of the poster is what people noticed about me during the trip and it was meaningful, it made me think I was part of the community more and that I was accepted by my peers. The other thing, the emotional intelligence thing was important to me because it got me to learn my strengths more emotionally and that I could use those to my advantage.

One goal for the next 5 days and the big takeaway

One small goal that I will do is talk to people in my class more, this goal matters because it will keep me to community build and keep my relations with my classmates positive. One big takeway for this trip for me is my community building. I learned how to mingle with the classmates that I don’t usually talk to and use that to build stronger bonds.

Teach Your Teacher Reflection

After writing instructions on how to add live short codes, showing him how to add them. I have done it.

Some context and how I got here

So this will be the first maker project that we are doing, which is improving our blog posts because Mr. Harris said that all of our blog posts are quite bad from last year. So this project is to improve the visuals and the way we tell our stories in our blogs. One of the activities I did today was teach Mr. Harris how to add a cool feature in WordPress. I did live shortcodes and a divider, which I put above the text here. The process of making the instructions was easy and intuitive, so it wasn’t too hard to do, and then I had to show Mr. Harris how to add shortcodes and dividers. It went well mostly, but on his screen, it didn’t show the dividers, which was a problem.

Reflection on teaching Mr harris

So the main part of this part of the project is to teach Mr. Harris how to make your blog look cool. So I taught him how to add them. It didn’t go as smoothly as expected because there were some technical issues on his side. The divider was not in a style he selected. I could have done better on teaching him because it didn’t go as smoothly as I wanted it to and I could have come up with a backup plan because it didn’t work. So in conclusion, it went okay but there are some things that I would like to improve upon so this doesn’t happen again.

I became a PLP learner reflection

After One grueling month, I have completed a new project called Becoming a PLP learner

So since the beginning of the year, I worked on a project called Becoming a PLP learner and the driving question was,”who am I as a PLP leaner.” so when I was first introduced to this project, I was rather excited about it because I am a tech person and it is a maker class. So this first thing I created was a WordPack about who I am and I had to make it because it was one of the building blocks to my keynote presentation.

Then after I made my WordPack and a while later, I made my Nike shoe, and how I made it was by tracing and colour filling in keynote. I’d say it’s not my proudest work because it is not very precise, but I don’t have a steady hand and I am not the best drawer out there. And the reason I made this is to build up my skills for when I make my keynote presentation.

Then next is a top 3 creation for me is my animated figet spinner that I spent quite a bit of time working on. So it spins very fast and it looks really trippy when you look into it deeply. So the skills I leaned were animation in keynote and why I did it was because I had to build my skills for my final piece of the project.

So next is my Memoji which I also created in keynote, and the process in creating it it quite crazy, I had to find a bunch of photos and stuff to add into the Memoji and I had to revise it once, but the second attempt worked out in the end.

Then the final boss for this project was my keynote presentation. All of the other tasks before were to help me lead up to this moment, I used all of the skills I learned before making this presentation which are, animating, colour filling, and filling in stuff in general. So I am happy with the results, I hand drew most of the titles and I added a lot of slides. So I hope you enjoy My presentation!! also pls subscribe to my YouTube channel

What I did not do well in and what I did well in

I think I did really well in the making of the keynote presentation, WordPack, and fidget spinner, I think I did really well making the presentation because I hand drew the titles on some of the slides and about the WordPack I did well in that because I liked the money bag and the colour combo, and about the fidget spinner, I did well in the animating. And what I did not do so well in is the Nike shoe and I think I could have done better in the precision of the tracing lines. But I don’t have a steady hand. So in conclusion, I did answer the driving question
