This third week in our Shrew You project we have focused highly on the historical and socials part of the project as we look at the history of women’s rights and equality in our society.

We started with a little bit of Taming of the Shrew where we got to act 3 in the play. Definitely finding it less confusing now as it passes the halfway point. Last week I definitely was confused with all the costumes and complex Italian names it was really hard to follow. But that wasn’t the only thing that we were reading. We did another 4 essays with analysis questions meant to increase our understanding of how text.

I think that I have improved in my ability to analyze text since last week and I am more confident in my ability to respond to it thoughtfully.

Wealso looked at our latest milestone work, milestone 3. This milestone is a group project where we make a poster documenting women’s rights in a certain period of recent history. My group was given 1990 to current year so I’m going to spend my weekend researching and working on my part which is focused on employment and education.

Definitely the key point I will need to focus on is the wage gap. Specifically we learned this week that the gap is mostly from women leaving for maternity and thats where the lack of support systems and the loss of time in the workplace separates women from men. This is still a very hot topic right now so theres plenty of information to research.

I definitely learned a lot from this week and have already started on my learning that will take place next week.
