A Podcast for a day (Mentor for a day)

Once again it is that time of year, we are back at the end of another project, so it is now time to look back and reflect. In this project a called mentor for a day we answered the driving question of “How can learning from others’ career journeys help us shape our own?”. To answer this we would be building a audio reflection, over a career that interested us, and that we wanted to learn more about. My choice of career was music production, Because it seems quite appealing and I wanted to learn more about it. We then started to research all about the careers, making smart brevity notes to show our leaning. We would then start to find people in these fields who were connected to us, (Family friend, local other relative), and reach out to see if they would be able to either be interviewed, or job shadow for a half day. Now for me this was a bit hard, as I was not able to find anyone in music production, so I had to pivot to a family friend who work in a sign making business. Sadly I was not able to connect properly, sadly missing out on a job shadow opportunity. But I didn’t let this stop me as I still created a audio reflection on music production instead talking about other producers, and finding other ways to make it entertaining. Now that I have given some context over this project I feel it is best to reflect. I found this project to be very fun, because it prepared us for the future in a very easy to understand and simple way, allowing us to look into our futures and not be blinded. I enjoyed the research about jobs because it gave us a chance to learn more about a profetion we already enjoyed or found interesting, and also maybe find some new career that we had never heard of. Really enjoyed the opportunity to follow a career path deeper than just a typical job shadow.
