The Most Radical Innovations of The Renaissance in One Triptych…

My Triptych:

My Historical Explanation:

Left panel: The new ideas from the renaissance changed the renaissance world by multiple critical innovations such as:

In the renaissance, science was taken a big step up. Things like Astronomy, Medicine, Math, Geography, Archetecture, etc. Without these, we wouldn’t have progressed through time and advanced in technology, physics, and even to the point where we wouldn’t know whether the earth is flat or circular.

Art became a huge thing during the Renaissance. Art was meant to catch your with feelings of laughter, sorrow, happiness, etc. It was also meant to reveal the true beauty of both people and nature, but most of all, to express yourself.

There were some pieces of literature in the renaissance that were sensational but at the same time very, very, outdated. For example, William Shakespeare had some very famous work, but if we were to look at it today, we would have a much different view than people of the renaissance simply becuase in lots if ways, outdatedly, quite sexist. At the same time many famous pieces of art are still read to this day. The most popular kinds of literature were for the most part, drama and poetry. For the first time in history, literature wasn’t as focused on religion. As more sophisticated education spiraled, people began to be able to read so literature became a more common subject in leisure.

Right Panel: The traditional ideas that people had before the Renaissance were:

Before the Renaissance, people relied on religion instead of education. Everyone was born into religion so no one knew anything different so it wasn’t entirely their fault. The only person who knew how to read and write were the popes and they were the only properly educated people and the only thing they taught to the world was religion.

The wheel was one of the most critical innovations of all time. It also led to more similar innvovations like the steering wheel, the tire, the bicycle, cars, and much more. Without such an amazing innovation, we we probably wouldn’t have nearly as proficient transportation as we do today.

The compass was an innovation developed in China and is believed to have been invented between the 11th and 12th century by Shen Kuo. The purpose of the compass was to indicate directions with an arrow pointing to either North, East, West, or South depending which way you are travelling towards. Without such an innovation, we wouldn’t have a direct indication of direction.

Centre Panel: The new ideas from the renaissance changed my world by:

Overall, without the innovations made in the Renaissance, we wouldn’t be nearly as advanced today since many of those innovations are still used to this day in every day, modern life like clocks, scientific and medical knowledge, compasses, non-religious literature, embraceful art, and loads more of innovations!

What am I taking out of this project?

After completing this project, I believe the Renaissance is one of the most critical times in History when it comes to relevant inventions/innovations in the sense that the Renaissance was roughly 700 years ago yet we still use many inventions that were created then, today!
