  1.  The NHL freezes the pucks before the games to prevent them from bouncing on the ice and makes the puck slide smoother.

2.   The Pittsburg penguins once had a mascot that was a live walking penguin and was named slap shot Pete 

3.   The highest  slapshot speed was 118 mph the shot was by Bobby Hall 

4.    The first hockey pucks weren’t rubber they were actually frozen cow boo but that was in 1800s. Now a days they are made of vulcanized rubber

5. The Montreal Canadians have won the most snarly cups out of every NHL team at 23 but they haven’t won one in a while there last win was in 1993. 

6. Helmets are mandatory now but the last person to not were one was Craig MacTavish who retired in 1997. The last goalie to ever not were a mask was Andy Brown but he finally wore one in 1974

7. The first NHL goal was scored on December 19, 1917 by Dave Ritchie of the Montreal Wanderers against the Toronto Arenas.

8. The Buffalo Sabres are the only team to have killed a live animal during a hockey game in 1974 the team killed a bat during the game.

9. The Montreal Canadians have the most players to be added to the hockey hall of fame at 12 people out of the 289 people that includes 8 women, 112 builders and 16 referees.
