M-POL 2025

Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.”

Welcome to my MPOL 2025 in this post I will talk about some of my favourite projects and my strengths and struggles.

To start this presentation, I’m gonna be talking about some of the projects that I think I’ve done my best work on and others that I think I could’ve put more work into. I think the project I’m most proud of this year is my digging deeper museum exhibit craft page. This project was in my BC first people’s course with Ms Maxwell. In this project, we had to pick a first naition  artifact I chose a paddle. I feel that this project I was able to use all of my strengths such as being able to focus learning on my own, using my creativity to design the actual page. I used agency and my self regulation skills  in order to stay focussed on my work and ask and incorporate feedback in my learning.

One thing I keep working on from last year is my ability to balance my work/ school  and life. This is the second year that ive had to manage my work life school balance I got a job, a lot of school work, and I also have a personal life to take care of. While its great to have a job and making my own money, but it also makes things more stressful. I try to plan it out by only working on nights where I don’t already have stuff going on, and I always try to finish my school work before going to work.

This connects to another skill from my vision mission and values which is self regulation. I used to be really bad at this because I couldn’t focus on getting work done. But through high school, I’ve been improving, especially now that I have a lot of responsibilities like my job. School work is important, so I have to stay on top of it. I think I can still get better at this, and one of my goals is to do work at school, not just for PLP but also for math and other courses.

Accepting feedback

This skill is really important, especially in PLP. I haven’t always been great at accepting feedback because once I hand something in, I don’t want to look at it again. But this year, I’ve been trying harder to accept feedback so my work can be better.

One time I used this skill was in my last project, where I made a Book Creator about sports in Canadian history. I kept taking in feedback and making changes to my book. Doing that made me really proud of it, and it became one of my favorite projects I’ve done.

Seeking help

This skill is something I’ve worked on a lot in PLP. It’s always been talked about in my mPOLs and tPOLs. I can now finally say that I’m consistent in asking for help when I need it. I just wanted to bring it up in this M-POL to show the skills that I have improved.
