Holidays🎉

Everyone has holidays or special events that they celebrate so today my post is going to about some holidays that I celebrate.

I think the holiday is like the most is New Years Eve because its the end of another year and hours away from a brand new one. Usually I spend Christmas and New Years down in Mexico with my grandparents but this year I had to spend it at home due to Covid-19 regulations.

A reason I enjoy this time of year is because of the food my family makes. We start with some drinks and appetizers that then move onto the main course which is usually lobster and prawns with a bunch of other side dishes. Then once its midnight, we all eat 12 grapes and make 12 wishes.

I like to turn on the TV and watch all the other cities in different time zones already have their celebrations even though its still like 9:30 where I am. We have a tradition that we wear Hawaiian shirts/ dresses around 7:30 and keep them on until we go to bed.

And now a short haiku about New Year’s Eve….

New Year’s Eve

Fireworks, happy

Celebration, party, feast,

Tradition, midnight

Although it was short, I hope you enjoyed my post about my favourite holiday.
