Week three challenges, how to educate others.

As mentioned before, this is the post on copyrights.

You may not know,  but all those images on Google are not free! Someone in the world owns those photos. You might use an image you found off Google in one of your posts, then the owner of that image sees your post with their photo in it. They can technically charge you money to use that image because it belongs to them. I am going to share with you some ways to avoid those situations.

1. Look for ® or a ™. These symbols usually mean the image is owned by someone. Sometimes the image will have the owner’s name faded in the background. This is called a watermark. For example, some of the images will have the words stock photos™  faded in the background. It is only after contacting the owner and purchasing the right to use the image that you will have access to a pure image.

2. Use images the don’t charge money. These will most likely be Creative Commons images or Royalty Free images. Although sometimes it’s hard to find the exact image you want using these searches, you will automatically be able to use the images and distribute the content as you want.

3. Lastly try creating your images. This may take longer but it means that you don’t have to go through looking for free images. It is also a great way to experiment and learn how to use the tools on your device.

That’s all for now!
