Week 11, The Fallen

This is the final weekly post before we head into winter break, and I am happy to say that I am finally able to give out the link to my podcast. It is available on a number of platforms and I will include a few at the end of the post. Another thing that is coming up is another podcast episode that will be completed after winter break is over, so that is something to look forward to.

The first thing I want to talk about that I found interesting this week was a video that was shown to my class after we finished our WWII unit. This video was called  The Fallen and talked all about the people who died in WWII. It used many different graphs and images to represent those who died during the war.

The reason I wanted to share this video is because I think it has a deep message that everyone should understand. Near the end it totals all the deaths in WWII and before that it compares the amount of deaths to other wars in history. The information they gave was shocking, it really opened my eyes to the effects of war. When we read of history textbooks, it doesn’t really make you truly understand how many people actually suffered during the war, however in this video they were very successfully able to convey just how bad the war was and why there can never be another one like it.

During our time learning about WWII we watched a lot of videos, but for some reason this one stuck out the most to me and that is why I thought it was a good idea to share it so others can also watch it.

That is the only thing I wanted to share this week, I hope you find it as interesting as I did. Make sure to watch out for the upcoming podcast, and as promised in the last weekly post I will include the link to the podcasts HERE.

That’s all for now.
