Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Today I will be discussing a fun project I have been working on for the past month or so with the goal of creating 5 short videos in a style similar to a TikTok video. The catch was that it had to be about or related to a field school that I went on with my class recently to Florida, or more specifically Disney World.
As part of the PLP program students are offered the chance to travel to many notable and historical places to further their learning. This time it was Disney World. The project went hand in hand with my humanities project, both centered around film making. The goal of this one specifically was to create five trend videos based in Disney World or about my travel experience. As the first out of country field study I wanted to get a variety of video ideas so I got one of the travel, one about food, one about rides, one about my hotel, and one about the experience as a whole, this way I could show all sides of my travel.
Once we started our first proper day in one of the Disney parks I realized that managing my time would have to become a very important thing, as we moved very fast as a group around the parks and through rides in order to get the very most out of our day. For me this was not a good thing as I am terrible at managing my time and tend to forget to do things very often. So I decided to just film everywhere we went so that after the fact I could create my videos without worrying if I got all of the footage that I needed.
In the end I was surprised at how much I actually ended up filming and had over 18 gigabytes of video and photos, which is not a good thing for an android phone user such as myself, because things like emails and google drives get stored on your personal cloud, meaning that once all of that space is filled up you can no longer send or receive emails which was the only way that I could send all of the video footage to my computer or iPad in order to edit it together into an actual video.
To fix this issue I had to plug my phone into my computer and manually transfer them off of the phone.
Now after I fixed this issue I was able to construct my 5 trend videos listed below.
