Welcome, to my last Student Led Conference which is now named Transitional Presentation of Learning or TPoLs for an apropriate reason. The difference between this and a SLC is that it’s about going to the next grade and why we should. Anyways, the driving question for this is, Why do I feel I am ready to advance to the next grade? So let’s get started.

First let’s show my growth as a leader. An example of this that I will use is my DI or Destination Imagination. My group this year was Mimi, Sophia, Isobel, James and of course me! There was a bit of discord between the girls and James because of the script and work distribution and I once again was stuck as the middle man in the arguement. So I tried my best to keep both groups separated, because they would only argue if put together, and would work with them both. I listen to their rants and ideas and relayed them to try and keep everyone in a mood to finish. This got us passed regionals and into provincials where we dropped out of the competition. I believe we did great and really pulled it together at the very end and did the best we could do with what we had. More on this here.

Now let’s talk about my growth as a learner. This project is from SciMathics and was called Game of Life. For me this was my favourite project all year and was really fun. The goal was to live for 4 years in a make believe adult world with taxes and jobs. I know most adult really hate taxes and stuff like that, but I think it was really fun, maybe I should go into finance… Anyways, getting off topic. I learned more about the adult world, how to budget and many money or math related problems that come with adultery. This gave me something to look forward to later in life, but that’s probably not gonna last. You know right? It’s kinda like where you can’t wait to get into high school just to realize it’s the same thing, but harder. Sadly, no blog post on this was made and I don’t really have all the info to make one now.

Anyways, these are the thing I believe I’ve improved on this year and are some of the reason I should go into the next grade other than I’m not getting a failing grade. Other than this I have a great ability to avoid homework making me a teachers worst nightmare! Muhahhahhaha! Thanks for listening or reading! Now get out of my head your cur!
