CANDY STRIPERS AND HEALTH CADETS

Volunteers Needed

Lynn Valley Care Centre Summer and Year Round

Lynn Valley Care Centre needs High School Students (age 16 to 18 years old) to volunteer throughout the summer months as well as all during the school year.
Help and work with our elderly Residents through visits, doing simple activities or games, doing “Tea Times”, and giving mealtime assistance.
The application process involves:
·         Application Form
·         Reference Form
·         Requirements for Volunteers
·         Letter which the students take to the police station to process their Criminal Record Check
Please see Ms. Parmar for an application package.  Your summer hours can count towards your Grad Transitions service hours and towards your Work Experience credits.

Since the processing of the Criminal Record Check takes several weeks, students who are interested in our volunteer program need to be encouraged to get that done promptly.  Interview appointments for volunteering at Lynn Valley Care Centre are not made until after the student has received the Criminal Record Check Report back from the police, at which time the student then calls the coordinator, Mrs. Kruse, at 604.982.3709 or email at ekruse@nsph.ca to set up the appointment.
