Youth Work Experience – AquaCamps Leader

Summer Break 2019

Information sessions are on April 15, 24, 30.

Students must attend an information session to be considered.

Role summary:

You will have an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with children aged 4-12 in an educational setting, work on your communication and leadership skills, develop a sense of teamwork and explore career options. Specifically, you will:

 Assist with the preparation, delivery and clean-up of Summer AquaCamps program.

 Enhance participants’ experience through group activities using hands-on, interactive activity stations and props.

 Help supervise and lead small groups of children during play and gallery exploration time.

Desired skills and experience:

 Outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated

 Experience in educating and/or working with children

 Students in Grade 11 or 12 preferred

 Excellent interpersonal, time management and presentation skills

 Must be creative, flexible and proactive in problem solving

 Interested in learning about marine biology and/or education

Special requirements:

 Grade 11 or 12 students preferred.
