Parkgate is an excellent place to gain volunteer hours, work experience hours and working within your community making connections.
Did you know that they offer 3 spectacular scholarships
Parkgate Society has generously opened up the two volunteer-specific scholarships for volunteers who help out at any program that runs within Parkgate Community Centre.
The 3 Parkgate Society scholarships are:
- The $1500 PF Yong Memorial Scholarship is for a local resident going into a trade or apprenticeship (nursing, cooking, electrical, carpentry, welding, etc) or a post-secondary applied/natural science program. No Parkgate volunteering is necessary but if you are a volunteer, please include your experience.
- The $1500 Student Volunteer Award is for a grade 12 student who has volunteered at Parkgate, now or in the past
- The $1000 Al and Jan Argent Award is for a Parkgate volunteer of any age who would like to take courses to make them a stronger volunteer in our community (ie. First aid, food safe, High 5… make a case for a course, seminar or workshop and we will consider it!)
