The SLED Program is a minimum 35 hour volunteer program and broken down into a number of different workshops:
Two 6 hour workshops (hosted on Saturdays)
One 5 hour online learning module to be done at your own pace
20 hours of practical “on-the-floor” work experience
The curriculum supports youth in their understanding of how they can influence others and how to support others in their learning.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous camp experience and working in a leadership role with children in a variety of settings. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. All candidates must be prepared to work at any of our facilities. Compensation: $20.72 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
Demonstrated ability to organize and provide leadership for children and youth activities

Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

Previous volunteer experience working with children/youth considered an asset

While we are hiring summer coaches at the moment, we are particularly interested in anyone who would be able to work over spring break, or throughout the spring on Saturdays (all day), and Tuesdays and Thursdays (after school).

Conditions of Employment
The employment is for five (5) full days.
You must be available from July 10-14, 2023 during the day for the entire duration of the program.
Obtain a Security clearance (we will guide you through the process).
Parental consent to participate (if you are under 18).
Selected students must arrange and pay for their own travel and all other related costs if coming from another area/city than the job location.
Additional requirements
You must have a Social Insurance Number before the start of employment.
