The 7 habits of highly effective teens – Finale

Introduction

Welcome to my third and final post about Sean covey’s 7 habits of highly effective teens. Unlike the last 2 posts, I will be covering only 1 habit rather than 3, this is because the last habit is the most important!

Habit #7: Sharpen the saw

This habit is all about renewal, sharpening the saw prevents burnout and helps with self care. Sharpening the saw can look like many things, because it’s essentially just relaxation, one way I sharpen the saw is by eating healthy.

What I think of the project/book

After reading The 7 habits of highly effective teens, I can say that the habits themselves made sense, but some of the examples Sean Covey used felt a little awkward and as if he was trying too hard to be relatable. However, that doesn’t mean that the habits can’t help! One habit I find really useful would be habit 5: seek first to understand then to be understood. This habit means wanting to listen and understand first, and then express yourself. Seeking first to understand, then to be understood means valuing somebody else’s ideas and thoughts over your thoughts and ideas. I find it to be useful because being able to understand somebody is so important! You will avoid more arguments and end up with a point of view!

Conclusion

Thanks for reading my post! If you haven’t read the other 2 before this one, go check them out!
