D.I, But its PLP

Hello and welcome back to my blog. This is going to be an interesting post as we are currently in a global epidemic. Somehow in all of this the teachers of PLP saw past the cancelling of the D.I provincials and decided to hold their own online chat room (mandatory) D.I competition.

After the regional tournament ended we got right back to work with critiquing and fixing our ideas. This involved fixing lol the things that went wrong in our presentation. Two weeks in to this block of time and the day before spring break starts we get an email saying that the destination imagination tournament has been cancelled due to COVID 19. This news had mixed feelings in the class. We didn’t want to do D.I but we also did spend a lot of time working on our solutions. After this announcement we did have a lot less work in spring break.

as we got into spring break news that school was cancelled was given by the government. This was not amazing but still pretty good as I have no love for school work, but I don’t want to be sitting in quarantine. The week after spring break we were given a surprise announcement, we would be doing DI in and online meeting. We weren’t going to be competing with anyone but we still had to present.

Before we presented our team had a few group meetings on zoom and finding out what we were going to do for this quickly approaching presentation. We decided that we would each synchronize backroads and change them at the same time. We then would act out the plot of our story to the best of our abilities.

The day of the presentation we all logged on to the zoom meeting and got our backgrounds ready and just went for it. We did the best we could to make a reasonable presentation and surprisingly it went really well. I think that I could have gone a little better but overall it was good for the time and materials we had. Here is the digital back drops we used.

In conclusion DI this year was very weird and a interesting experience. I feel that the online competition was a great way to challenge us. It made us think and made us innovate which is what PLP is about. Overall DI this year went not as great as I hoped but in the end it was a success. Thank you for reading my blog and have a good day.
