Worldview Learning Post

EYYYYY. I’m here and ready to write another post. This one is on worldview! Worldview is defined by google as, “a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world.” I define it as the way you see the world. Their one is more elegantly put.

We started off this unit with a pretest of how we saw things that effected our worldview. I enjoyed it, but didn’t understand at first what is was for. It was a super good transition to our first discussion about world view. We marked it on a scale of, strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, or strongly agree. Here’s mine. Warning, it looks really bad and I think some of the spelling is incorrect. I believe it shows how my brain works.

Next, we did guided notes. Honestly, not super interesting. It consisted of picking a book and deducting what the main character’s worldview was. We chose August Pullman from Wonder. We did it but my group found the assignment kind of dense.

The next part was brainstorming. We wrote about areas that have effected our worldview. This required the app, Mindnode. 10/10 would use again. Here’s mine. It wasn’t my favourite assignment but, still up there. Here it is.

Then, we created personalized paragraphs about specific topics and examples that we believe are large factors in shaping our worldview. I chose travel, culture, and technology. It was an engaging assignment and I think it refined how I think about the world.

The last section was creating an Explain Everything. There is a lot of tools in this app, so if you want to learn how to use it, click the video down below.

The video!
My explain everything had so many obstacles and tech issues to over come, so, after 3 deleted drafts, 4 wasted hours, and 1 brain about to explode, I created a paper copy. It looks similar to an extremely poor Explain Everything but I was fairly proud of it. If you look at the end, the parts of the app that were working, I fully utilized. Here it is.

I think this assignment was informative but also gave us a lot of room for creativity. The room for creativity and the room for error was very closely matched, so there were many mistakes made during this project. I think because of those errors, I think I learned so much. Try investagating your own world view, and shoot me a comment down below, after you figure it out!
