The End of The Road

It’s finally the end of the student blogging challenge, and it really bugs me that we are ending on week 11. Not week 10, not week 12, but week 11. WHYY?

This week, we are reflecting on the past ten blogging challenges, and talking about how this blog is going to look in the future.

One of the biggest things I learned doing the blogging challenge is how to embed stuff like pictures or videos into our post. I practiced this throughout the challenge but really worked on it in week 3 of the challenge. Week three, we practised embedding all types of media, like pictures, PDFs, and videos! I would use these skills throughout the rest of my blog, like in the “Sounds That Sound Good” post where I embedded the song and the survey into the post, or in the Destination Imagination post where I embedded my own YouTube videos.

Another thing we practiced during the student blogging challenge was commenting. Commenting is not my favourite and I have a lot to improve with it. This is because I’ve found that I really dislike communicating through chat. Wether it’s IMessage or another texting service, I have always found it really awkward and unnatural to talk online. However, I do understand the benefits, with the ability to have conversations with anybody from anywhere in the world. Because of this, I will continue to work on my commenting skills as we go along.

If you enjoy commenting, feel free to comment on this post, or any other post. It would be great practise and would mean a lot. Just make sure to follow the Commenting Guidelines that I made during week 2 of the Student Blogging Challenge

The thing that I found quite fun about the Student blogging challenge, was the ability to share my passions and hard work to the world. Normally in school, we just show our work to the teacher and that’s where it ends, but with the blog I got to talk about a lot of things I normally wouldn’t just hand in. For example, I had an entire post just talking about a desk I was going to make, or how I learned to slack line. The student blogging challenge allowed for more personalized learning and I really liked that.

In the future, this blog will still primarily be used for school project reflections. However,  to keep it interesting I’ll try to occasionally post on different more personal subjects. These posts will most likely be about any new builds I complete, rock climbing, and or any  passions or projects that I find interesting enough to share.

I will also continue to try and personalize the blog so it greater reflects my personality, as well as making it easier to read and navigate.

Thank you for following my journey through the Student Blogging challenge. It was lots of fun and it was really cool seeing all the different approaches people took to each challenge.

See you next time,

Nolan
