Maker post

Hello this is my maker reflection post. This is a post about all of the things that we learned in this project. For this project we made 4 videos that related to the project.  The main focus is how might I use the moving image to tell a story? And the videos we made also connected to our humanities project.

The first video we made was the silent video and the main thing I can take away from this is just how to show a well told story without the need of dialogue.  I saw that if we just act like mimes and cartoon characters we were able to pull off a pretty good video, even if we couldn’t fit in a post credit scene. Overall I thought that this video had a pretty good story and I thought that we were able to show it well.

Now the second video that I made was the TikTok style video and the first one that we made was a transition but after further revision we had to make a new one. The video that I made was a music clips video as in that every beat a new photo shows, now I thought that I learnt just mostly how to make a video like this because I normally don’t make videos like those but I thought that it was a really cool skill to learn and can be useful for further projects. I can take away from this project by thinking of all of the photos in my video and thinking of how they connect to my project.

And the 3rd video that I made was the at home video challenge, now the question for this video was What inspires me? And in the video I just talk about myself and my hobbies and how I answer the question and I showed a video of me holding some things that I am talking about or me talking but the main thing I learnt from this is constructive video making/a new idea of how to work. I thought that this project was beneficial to me because of how much it gave me an idea on what I can do not just at school but everywhere.

And the fourth and final video that I made is the investigative video and this video is based on our thesis that influenced our interviews that we did on the Alberta trip. The video was supposed to be a kind of a representation of your learning and how you proved your thesis. In my video I talk about how I thought that my thesis was answered by my interviews and just the culture and then I put my favourite interview at the end. I really liked this video because it was a good way to show my learning and how I was able to use my questions in public and get the answer I wanted (even if it took a few interviews). I learned a lot from this video because at first I didn’t think much of my thesis or my interviews but after giving them some thought I realized that I was really using my ideas to create a different perspective on the west.

Overall I really liked making these videos and thought that they were a lot of fun, I really enjoyed how these videos were fun and also educational at the same time, what I mean is they showed me a lot of new skills and I had fun using those skills to make a fun video of either me and my friends or just me. But either way I thought that all of these videos are different because one is related to the humanities or others just for maker. i learnt lots of different skills from this but the. One I think I will use the most is the skill to use my creativity in the form of video.
